Obituary of Frederick Carpenter Brown
FREDERICK CARPENTER BROWN, 79, of BAY HEAD, passed away Monday, February 23, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Born in New York City, to the late Harry S. and Marjorie Carpenter Brown, he lived in Moorestown and had summered in Bay Head before moving there permanently in 1985.
He was an avid bridge player, multiple award winner at the Bay Head Yacht Club, and a Gold Life Master.
Mr. Brown had been employed as an engineer retiring from RCA, Moorestown.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Bay Head Yacht Club and the Toms River Bridge Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sally McIntyre Brown in 1964.
Surviving are three sons, Peter and his wife Nancy of Wall, Harry and his wife Carol of Westfield and Frederick, Jr. of Point Pleasant; two daughters, Willette Brown and Sandy Nevens of Union, Maine and Dorothy Maffiore and her husband Bob of Brick; and eight grandchildren, Rebecca and Sarah Brown, Amanda Maffiore, Samuel Nevens, Ashley and Peter Brown, and Alexandra and Stephanie Brown.
At 11 a.m., Saturday, a memorial service will be held at All Saints Church, 500 Lake Avenue, Bay Head, 08742, followed by a reception in Bristol Hall at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215 ( www.joslin.org) , are suggested.
