She was an incredible teacher with a great sense of humor, and one of the people who made me decide to go into education. She will be missed.

Sharon was my Waynesburg College(University) roommate.
She loved our sorority,Alpha Beta Nu. She has been in recent years the glue that has kept us together and everyone informed. Her enthusiasm will be missed. I am so sorry she has left us.

I am one of Sharon's sorority sisters. Sharon ogranized and planned our first reunion at her home. It was the first time we had gotten together since our days at Waynesburg. Sharon's love for her sisters was very evident. In many ways Sharon bevame the heart of our reunion. It was fun hearingfrom her when a new sister was planning to attend. She always arrived with pictures and red roses that she gave to each of because it was our sorority flower. She will be missed by all of us and we knew that we were her "sisters". She was hoping to see us gather again soon to continue our unity as sisters of ABN.

I have fond memories of Miss Reid. The last class that she taught before she retired was my son Brady's 5th grade class, and his last year at Ocean Road School. I got to know, admire and respect Miss Reid during that year. After she retired, I would meet her occasionally at the Foodtown in Pt. Pleasant Beach, and it was always a pleasure talking to her. My son, Brady, who is now 22 years old, recently completed an Internship at Meridian Life Fitness & Rehabilitation on Arnold Ave., as part of his college graduation requirements. He told me that he saw and spoke to Miss Reid each day he was there, and that she told him that she still had the retirement gift that I gave her, which included a balloon centerpiece, and that it still looked as good as it did the day I presented it to her. Miss Reid was very appreciative of that gift, as she said that I was the only parent who thought of her, and she would always remember that. My husband Bob, our son Brady, and I are very saddened to learn that Miss Reid passed away. May she rest in peace.

I met Sharon when she taught my son Robert(now 38) at Ocean Road School, everytime we would meet through the years, she never failed to ask about him.... She was a wonderful teacher, who always told me she was proud of Robert, who is now a doctor, and I truly always felt that came from her heart... I will miss 'running into' around town.....

The day after our dear friend Sharon passed away I received by e-mail letters children had written to God. The first one say: "Dear God, Instead of letting people die and haveing to make new ones why don't you just keep the ones you got now? Jane" As I scrolled and read the other letters I thought I might know God's "job" in heaven for Sharon. With her devotion to children, sense of humor, and big heart, who but Sharon could help God answer the letters and prayers of children. May she rest in peace.
