Obituary of George B. Hildner

George B. Hildner, 70, of Brick, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

 

Born in Elizabeth to the late George and Ann (Schulz) Hildner, he grew up in Union and lived in Springfield and Florham Park before moving to Brick five years ago.

 

For thirty-four years George worked as a police officer for Springfield Township and retired as Deputy Police Chief in 2010.  

 

He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  George was an avid fisherman, hunter, and member of the Knights of Columbus, and communicant of the Church of the Visitation, Brick.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Dana Hildner and her fiancé, Brian Larkin.  Also surviving are his sisters, Linda Hildner and Diane Olock; nieces, Jaclyn, Christine, and Allison; and nephew, Matthew.

At 11 a.m., Thursday, February 25 a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the Church of the Visitation, 755 Mantoloking Road, Brick, which also will be livestreamed at  www.visitationrcchurch.org  Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.  (Those attending may meet directly at the church. Facial coverings are required and adherence to social distancing will be in effect.)

In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory to the Springfield First Aid Squad/EMS www.springfieldfas.org would be appreciated.
