Obituary of Gloria S. Morris

Gloria Smith Morris, 88, of Point Pleasant, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020.

Born in Point Pleasant to the late Lyman and Helma Smith, she was a lifelong resident and graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School.

Gloria worked in the cafeteria at Nellie F. Bennett Elementary School, Point Pleasant, where she was fondly known as, “The Cookie Lady.”  She was also a devoted member of Harvey Memorial United Methodist Church, Point Pleasant.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over fifty-eight years, George w. Morris; and son, William L. Morris.

Surviving are her daughter, Cathy Scott and husband, James of Point Pleasant.  Also surviving are her daughter-in-law, Micki Morris; three grandchildren, Amanda Grace and husband, Kyle, James Scott and wife, Jaime-Lynn, and Joseph Scott and wife, Jill; and six great-grandchildren, Meghan, Braden, Brody, Jack, Owen, and Luke.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
