Obituary of Doris M. Evertz
Doris M. Evertz (nee Ziegler), 96, of Lanoka Harbor, formerly of Lakewood, passed away, Monday, January 14, 2019.
Born in Asbury Park to the late Rev. Harold Ziegler and Myrtle Loveman Ziegler, she lived for many years in Lakewood and also in Fort Wayne, IN, Zephyr Hills, FL, and Toms River before moving to Lanoka Harbor.
In her youth, Doris worked at Fort Monmouth and retired from the Lakehurst Naval Credit Union.
A firm believer in staying busy, she loved to dance and travel. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, various crafts, reading romance novels, and being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carle B. Evertz and by her son, Robert H. Evertz.
Surviving are her daughter, Lois Evertz Sandoval and husband Jorge of Forked River; and five grandchildren, Richard Dawson and wife Denise, Robert Evertz and wife Devon, Amy Robinson and husband Matthew, Danielle Elley and husband Rory Gronczewski, and Dianna Sampson and husband Dennis. Also surviving are her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Evertz; three step-grandchildren, Eugenia, Karen, and Nancy Sandoval; and twelve great-grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, Hannah, Olivia, Melany, Aileen, Angelique, Callen, Boden, Owen, John, and Kira.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, January 24 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 11 a.m. a service will be held. Interment will follow at Evergreen/Embury UMC Cemetery, Little Silver.
