My first memories of Doris is when she visited our house in Wyckoff to see Aunt Bea and Uncle Russ with cousins Paul and Gail. She, as well as the rest of Aunt Ruth’s children were always a joy to have visit. Doris babysat me and often reminded me of how upset she was when she was giving me a bath as a baby and dropped me. That’s Doris; always concerned about the other person and always willing to help others.
I also remember her going on vacation with us to Massachusetts and again adding joy to time we spent together. In later life she enjoyed working with the church and its members as well as reaching out to the church in Asbury Park. Again, giving a helping hand and offering compassion to those not as fortunate as us.
Doris to say to least was a quality person. She was always helpful, sincere and genuine. She treated everyone equally and with great compassion. Ann and I always enjoyed visiting with her. Ann has always told me that one of the pluses of our marriage was that she got to know Aunt Ruth’s children. She describes them as being down to earth and compassionate.
Every time we visited Doris I continually thought I should be more like her. We will all miss her, but the memories of her fine qualities and her legacy will provide me with guidelines to emulate those qualities so that I might be half as generous and loving as her definitely a hard act to follow!

For the family of Doris and her dearest Rob-
I first met Doris walking my new puppy. The Dog 'Chloe" pulled me across the street in Leisure Village East and could not get enough of Doris and visa versa. Doris and I became hugging neighbors right away.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and a smile every day. I have a jar of blue "sea glass" she gave me for I told her I collected it. I felt very blessed to have known her for the few years Chloe and I did.
Deepest regards,
Diane Haulenbeek

I know you are with U. Fred, A. Gladys and U. John, U. Don and A. Trudy and of course the Geeb and Poppie!! We loved you and all of the kids and wife's, husbands and partners, and the kids, kids that they produce!! We all loved you so much and still did. The surprise birthday for Judy, and Lynnette coming and having lunch with you, that was so special. Your love of animals and especially the dogs! Taking Cindy to the beach after all the "beenies" went home, that was a great time for you and Cindy and the solstice of the ebb and tide of the ocean. Like life, I know you are at peace and we will hold tight to the loving memory of our Aunt Dor Dor!!!!
