Obituary of Donald R. Johnson
Donald R. Johnson, 83, of Brick, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at his home.
Born in Spring Lake, to the late Donald L. Johnson and Helen E. Grady Johnson, he was a life-long resident of the area.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 825, retiring in 1990.
He was an exempt Fireman for the Laurelton Fire Company. He joined the fire company as a junior fireman and held the offices of Engineer, Assistant Chief, and Chief and Fire Commissioner. He was a member of the B.P.O.E Elks #1698 of Point Pleasant for 28 years and was a communicant of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, Brick
He was predeceased by his son Gregory Johnson and his brother, William H. Johnson, Sr. Surviving are his beloved wife, Audrey (Ruppell) Johnson; two sons, Donald W. Johnson and his wife Sandy and Clifford L. Johnson and his wife Charlene; two daughters, Kathryn "Kathy" A. Johnson and her husband Gene and Sharon A. Russomano and her husband, Vic; his sister, Helen P. Linton and her husband, Bruce; his sister-in-law, Diane Johnson; five grandchildren, Tracey Bernard and her husband Grant, Jody Johnson, Cliff Johnson, Colleen Johnson and Anthony Pellecchia; and two great grandchildren, Tyler Bernard and Makenna Bernard.
Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m., Friday, July 13 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 8:30 p.m., a service will be held. Interment will be on Saturday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt.
